I have a definite love-hate relationship with technology, but I am also a grateful, blessed daughter of the tech gods. Listen to what I mean by clicking on the link below, recorded from my May 24, 2012 column in the Fort Collins "Coloradoan."

My phone is still operational as of this writing, but our family cell phone two-year contract is up so methinks an upgrade is in order - as is a huge thank-you to you for stopping by!

Rainbows Connect Family After Tragedy
I don't even want to think about what I can't even imagine, but Lisa and Eric Adsit don't have a choice. May 4 marks the fifth anniversary of the death of their daughter, Kayla Marie Adsit, who was killed in an automobile accident just three weeks prior to what would've been her high school graduation day. Click on the link below to hear what I wrote about this pair of brave, beautiful role models in the April 26, 2012 issue of The Coloradoan newspaper:

While I hope I never understand the depths of Eric's and Lisa's sorrow and loneliness, I know courage and compassion when I see it. I also know I will never again look at another rainbow without seeing Kayla's bright smile. Thank you, too, for your time and caring.

The Silver Tsunami is upon us
If you've got wavy grays and you know who Wavy Gravy is, you're probably part of the the coming gray wave of aging Baby Boomers, a.k.a. "The Silver Tsunami." Fort Collins is such a popular destination for "transitioning," there's a series of public discussions devoted to how to best batten down the hatches. Here's what I wrote about it, now that we're halfway through, as featured in the Mar. 22, 2012 "Coloradoan" - 3:33 worth!

Watch for more information on the last two sessions, the first of which is set for Tuesday, Apr. 17. Thanks to Chick-Fil-A for the great box lunches last time, and for being such a strong supporter of our community. And, Dear Reader, thank you for going out of your way to do the same.

Loving Work and Your Fellow Worker
Ah, February's drawing to the close. Spring is in the air. Can the topic of love be not far off? Perhaps you'll find my comments on the subject of love in the workplace equally far off...base, that is! Click on the link below to hear my February 23, 2012 column from The Fort Collins Coloradoan:
Love at Work 2-12.mp3
Okay, so this is going to sound corny (we Nebraskans are entitled), but I love you for taking the time to tune in, as it were. Thanks! What the world needs now...

The Super Bowl of Peace
I love football.
Texas A&M may have trademarked the phrase "12th Man," but the Aggies can't own what any stadium full of faithful fanatics creates anew with each and every game.
I wrote in the Jan. 26, 2012 "Coloradoan" about another game in town that centered on the concept of the power of shared thought. Click on the link below to hear more:

Ah, life is good...or at least it's as good as you and I think it is! Thanks, as always, for checking in. Now, about that proposed Colorado State on-campus stadium...

Presence is the Perfect Present
'Tis indeed the most wonderful time of the year when everything is magical, when anything is possible. I was honored to experience both recently, as I wrote in the Dec. 22, 2011 Fort Collins Coloradoan, and as you'll hear by clicking on the link below.
Presents 12-11.mp3
I'm forever grateful for inexplicable miracles - one of which is your continuing support. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! God bless us all, including our dearly departed who are undoubtedly closer than we think.

Branching Out With Gratitude
A snow-felled tree punches a hole in your house and your reaction is...? If you're like most of us, your response would naturally include a string of four-letter words punctuated with unintelligible screams. As I explain in my Thanksgiving Day 2011 column published in "The Coloradoan," Ms. Emmalie Conner took the high road when that very thing happened to her Oct. 26, as you'll hear by clicking on the link below:
Branching Out 11-11.mp3
I am thankful for friends like Emmalie, family like Auntie Em, and for people like you who get gratitude.
"Happy Thanksgiving!
