Wildfires are a wakeup call

Every day trumps every other day.

 The Colorado Wildfires of 2012 are so distressing; if only our collective tears could put them out. Imagine losing your home, everything you owned...unimaginable, right? It's difficult to wrap your head (and heart) around even being in harm's way like so many of our neighbors. What would you take? What would you leave?  Ray commented afterwards when I checked on his family's well-being after reading the Bonner Peak residents were back on pre-evacuation notice, "Absent another flare-up on the northeast side, we should be okay. The Hewlett Gulch Fire may have saved us!"

 God works in mysterious ways.

Calling for a miracle

Rainbows Connect Family After Tragedy

I don't even want to think about what I can't even imagine, but Lisa and Eric Adsit don't have a choice. May 4 marks the fifth anniversary of the death of their daughter, Kayla Marie Adsit, who was killed in an automobile accident just three weeks prior to what would've been her high school graduation day.  While I hope I never understand the depths of Eric's and Lisa's sorrow and loneliness, I know courage and compassion when I see it. I also know I will never again look at another rainbow without seeing Kayla's bright smile. Thank you, too, for your time and caring.

The Silver Tsunami is upon us

If you've got wavy grays and you know who Wavy Gravy is, you're probably part of the the coming gray wave of aging Baby Boomers, a.k.a. "The Silver Tsunami." Fort Collins is such a popular destination for "transitioning," there's a series of public discussions devoted to how to best batten down the hatches. Here's what I wrote about it, now that we're halfway through, as featured in the Mar. 22, 2012 "Coloradoan" - 3:33 worth!

Texas A&M may have trademarked the phrase "12th Man," but the Aggies can't own what any stadium full of faithful fanatics creates anew with each and every game.
